Understanding Plan Limits and Quota Tracking

StatusPage.me uses plan-based limits to ensure fair resource usage. Your plan determines how many monitors, status pages, and components you can create. We now show your usage in real-time so you always know where you stand.

What Are Plan Limits?

Each subscription plan includes specific limits for:

ResourceDescription
MonitorsThe total number of uptime/health checks you can create
Status PagesHow many public status pages you can publish
ComponentsThe total number of components across all your status pages
Monitor ChecksHow frequently monitors run and total checks per month

See the Billing & Plans guide for details on each plan’s limits.

Real-Time Quota Badges

Quota badges show your current usage right where you need them most — on creation screens and list pages.

Where You’ll See Quota Badges

Monitors Page

When you go to add a new monitor, you’ll see: “5 / 10 monitors” next to the Add Monitor button.

Status Pages List

When creating a new status page: “2 / 3 status pages”

What Happens When You Reach a Limit?

When you hit your plan limit:

  1. You’ll see a red quota badge showing you’re at capacity
  2. The “Add” or “Create” button may be disabled
  3. You’ll see a message explaining the limit
  4. You’ll have options to:
    • Upgrade to a higher plan
    • Delete unused resources to free up quota
    • Contact support if you need help

Note: Existing monitors, status pages, and components continue working normally. The limit only prevents creating new ones.

Soft Limits vs Hard Limits

Hard Limits (Enforced)

  • Monitor count
  • Status page count
  • Component count

You cannot exceed these without upgrading.

Soft Limits (Warnings)

  • Check frequency (downgraded, not blocked)
  • API rate limits (temporary throttling)

These may slow down or limit features but don’t completely block you.

DoDon’t
Monitor your quota badges regularlyWait until you’re at 100% to plan ahead
Clean up unused resources periodicallyKeep old test monitors forever

A: Business and Enterprise plans can request custom limits. Contact support.

Q: Do archived monitors count against my limit?
A: Paused/disabled monitors still count. Only deleted monitors free up quota.
